Training Courses: VC TRAIN : SPAT-C Suspends Training After 15 years of Helping Those from Within Deprived Areas of South Yorkshire

SPAT-C suspended all training activities as of 29th August 2008, due to failure to receive payment for training activities already undertaken for the Job Centreplus and Entry 2 Employment training programmes.

During the past 5 months the agency has put up a valiant effort in the face of extreme opposition to continue to deliver training to students emanating from across Sheffield's deprived wards.

The SPAT-C staff have shown true dedication and commitment by so far having worked as long as 5 months without payment of wages as the agency waited upon receipt of monies so as to ensure training continues whilst the agency dealt with the barrage of demands many of which came after SPAT-C had been starved of cash both through withholding of payments due as well as at rates of receipts far below that anticipated.

Whilst others gorged themselves on funding meant for "tackling disadvantage and social inclusion" , SPAT-C actually practiced what others autonomously repeat as a mantra to secure funding.

Frontline charities such as SPAT-C at the very heart of the fight against poverty and social inclusion are right across the country being annihilated by paper pushing pseudo quango's many of whom have a ZERO footprint within a deprived areas let alone have to deal with demanding clients on a day to day basis.

The government voiced their concern earlier this month by warning of the growing potential for social unrest as the economy takes a sharp downturn. Following whatever consquences transpire during 2009 of the economic crisis, the evitable public inquiries will look at why the frontline charities that could have made a difference were SNUFFED out by over zealotry by those that totally failed to understand why they are in receipt of funding who's purpose is to train individuals from within deprived communities out of social exclusion and into the mainstream.
